Credit card input errors or unacceptable card types

 

We are changing the way the system works with regards to credit card errors on the Checkout and Pay screen in thru.  

 

Currently, if the payment method has an error, a 'system' error message is issued and this creates a ticket to the Support site and creates an open activity in bond.  

 

 

Current functionality:

 

 

 

The new feature will provide you with improved clarity on this messaging, confirming that the error is with the payment method, not just a 'system error'.  Customers will see this too, if they are purchasing without broker assistance.

What this also means, going forward, is that if you do receive an error message when at Checkout and Pay (either as a broker/user or if the customer is doing it) its likely there is a bug/system error. These will come through to Support in the same way as they currently do. 

 

This provides clarity between a system error/bug and payment method validations.

 

 

Insufficient Funds Error message 

 

After clicking buy now, the customer/broker may receive the following message:

There was an error processing payment with this credit card.

 

This means the client has insufficient funds on their credit card. You will need to enter a new credit card. 

 

You will not see this error with a bank account payment as a bank account is NOT charged immediately.
