SGI Declaration of Emergency (DOE) Procedure

***This email affects those brokerages who write SGI policies in SK & now also AB since the state of emergency was declared.***

  1. During a DOE if the customer needs to be cancelled by registered letter for non-payment, the broker will submit the cancellation by clicking the registered letter button which sends a request to SGI to cancel for non-payment.
  2. SGI then sends a registered letter to the client and the client will have 120 days coverage in case there is a claim however the brokerage is not charged the time on risk for this period (just for the standard 15 days).

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to reference the email from Exhale for their appropriate processes in AB & SK.
