To prevent a person from being quoted in thru, an Insured Lockout can be added. Once the lockout is added, the quote will end once Continue is pressed on the About You page in thru.

How to create an Insured lockout

To create an Insured Lockout, click the Insured Lockouts tool in the periscope module.

A new tab will open called 'Insured Lockouts'.

To enter a new Insured lockout, complete the following steps.

  • Click 'Add New' and a new tab will open asking for more information.
  • Enter First Name.
  • Enter Last Name.
  • Enter Date of Birth - Year, Month, Day.
  • Description (optional) - this is where you can put your notes as to why they are locked out.
  • Click Submit to save.

The new lockout will now appear in the Insured Lockouts list.  Like here:

How to deal with Insured Lockouts

Insured or Postal Close lockouts - Set by the broker

For quotes (regardless of the insurer), when an Insured or Postal Code lockout (set by the broker) is triggered then:

  • The Broker will receive the corresponding lockout activity (noting if Postal Code or Insured lockout and that it was set by them).
  • The activity is Open and appears under Lead Management.
  • It can be manually closed (no restrictions).

As these are set by the broker, the broker can override, via Periscope. Then the customer OR broker/user can proceed with policy purchase.  (Overrides are completed in periscope, and by users with permission/access to that module).

Insured or Postal Close lockouts - Set by Agile Sprint

For quotes with Agile Sprint, when an Insured or Postal Code lockout (set by Them) is triggered then:

  • Agile Sprint will receive the corresponding lockout activity (noting if Postal Code or Insured lockout and that it was set by Agile Sprint).
  • The Broker will receive the corresponding lockout activity (noting if Postal Code or Insured lockout and that it was set by Agile Sprint).

Here are examples of Insured and Postal code lockouts set by Agile Sprint:

In this scenario, when the lockout is triggered it is then Agile Sprint who are required to override it, if required/requested by the broker .

They will have the ability to do this from their end, via Periscope.

Actions Icon

You can use the Action Icon (the 3 dots), to perform additional functions.  These are currently:

  • Edit
  • Override Lockout

Edit - allows you to Edit the Insured Lockouts details screen (eg: Name, Date of Birth, Description)

Override Lockout - This feature allows you override the lockout so that the Insured can proceed with getting a quote in thru.  They will continue to be listed here, in the Insured Lockouts section, but they have no restrictions when they come to get a quote.  The Red status Icon changes from Lockout to Overridden.

The Insured Lockouts remain in this section so that you have a record of past lockouts and the reason for the lockout.  This means that if you want to put them back into the Lockout status you can use the Actions Icon again to return them to Lockout.  Shown here:

Activities for Insured Lockouts

If a customer who is subject to an insured lockout tries to get a quote in thru, an activity is created which will advise all users a detail of why this is.

In the below example, John Smith tried to get a quote and the activity now confirms additional information about the reason for the lockout.

  • It was declined due to a Periscope Insured lockout
  • It was set by Chirp (our test insurance brokerage).

Here it would state the brokerage name of who set it or Agile Sprint if they set it.
